Keynote address by Dr. Andrea Grover, Associate Professor in Information Systems & Quantitative Analysis at the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Information Science & Technology. Andrea has conducted research in and around citizen science data and explored the relationship between project design and development and data in various influential peer-reviewed publications (you may recognize her by her former name, Andrea Wiggins).
Citizen science data can't be separated from the people involved in creating it, bringing both opportunities and risks. This talk will touch on ethical and social considerations for working with citizen science data, including ways that data access and evaluation can help meet project goals.
