CitSci2020: Explore the Zooniverse: Getting To Know the Platform and Project Builder

0:00 Welcome
2:42 Conversation with Dr. Marc Kuchner and Sarah Kirn
13:30 Introduction to event and speakers, Dr. Laura Trouille and Dr. Cliff Johnson
16:52 Dr. Laura Trouille on the Zooniverse Project Builder
31:06 Dr. Cliff Johnson on machine learning in the Zooniverse
50:48 Dr. Trouille and Dr. Johnson on the new NASA-Zooniverse partnership

Zooniverse is one of a small handful of cost-free platforms offering citizen science project creators a full suite of tools to support high quality projects and science. In this session we will be treated to a demonstration of the Zooniverse Project Builder, learn more about the machine learning tools available to Zooniverse projects, and discuss design choices and their implications. While our conversation will be centered on Zooniverse tools, our discussion will be relevant to anyone interested in citizen science project design, data validation, and volunteer retention.

As announced in summer 2020, Zooniverse and NASA have launched a new partnership. Join us to learn more about what this partnership means for NASA Citizen Science, how the Zooniverse might support your proposal to the new NASA Citizen Science Seed Funding call, and how you can stay in the loop on this exciting collaboration.
